HSE Events Specialist

Job Purpose:

Ensure proper communication of all HSE guidelines and procedures to KAFD employees, contractors/ sub-contractors, residents and visitors. Provide advice and assistance to relevant stakeholders in the interpretation and implementation of the same. Track HSE compliance audit activities for operations and construction sites and ensure provision of the requisite information to auditors in a timely and efficient manner. Advise on the development of corrective and preventative action plans as needed.

Main Accountabilities: 

• Remain abreast with legislative and industry-related changes in HSE regulations and safe work practices and communicate the same to relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure proper communication of all HSE guidelines and procedures to KAFD employees, contractors/ sub-contractors, residents and visitors. Provide advice and assistance to relevant stakeholders in the interpretation and implementation of the same.
• Track HSE compliance audit activities for operations and construction sites and ensure provision of the requisite information to auditors in a timely and efficient manner. Advise on the development of corrective and preventative action plans as needed.
• Ensure proper transfer of all HSE accidents and incidents needing investigation to the Investigation and Incident Management team to identify causes and determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.                
• Follow up on regular operations and construction sites inspections to ensure compliance with HSE standards. Pinpoint non-compliance situations and advise on required courses of action.
• Manage the identification of HSE risks in both operations and construction activities and guide the development of programs and procedures targeted at reducing occupational HSE risks.                                               
• Contribute to the development of KAFD’s Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) systems, processes, procedures, and controls, and continuously identify and recommend improvements while ensuring compliance with HSSE guidelines, standards, and relevant legislation.  

- Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations and best practices
- Experience in planning and executing events with a focus on health and safety measures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with various stakeholders and vendors
- Crisis management skills to handle emergencies or incidents during events
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures
- Knowledge of event management software and tools for tracking safety-related data
