Project Budgeting Specialist

Job Purpose:

       Contribute to the development of standards and procedures to guide the administration of project budgeting, and strategies to optimize KAFD’s project budgets and spending under Asset Delivery Division. Ensure adequate provision of support to all KAFD departments in creating and managing forecasts and budgets for various projects.

Main Accountabilities:

• Contribute to the development of standards and procedures to guide the administration of project budgeting, and strategies to optimize KAFD’s project budgets and spending under Asset Delivery Division.
• Ensure adequate provision of support to all KAFD departments in creating and managing forecasts and budgets for various projects.
• Continuously monitor projects spending patterns against set budgets, ensure compliance with current budget and spending policies and propose improved policies and systems regarding spending guidelines, cost savings, cost allocation, and annual planning.
• Lead regular communications with function/department budget owners across the organization to monitor and revise budgets throughout the year and life of project(s).
• Follow up on the timely provision of financial analysis and strategic input to facilitate high-level decision-making by management.
• Evaluate and select effective tools for budget planning, forecasting, monitoring and decision support and guide their implementation.
• Provide the required training to staff on budget management processes and systems.

• Strong understanding of financial principles and budgeting processes.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in budgeting and cost estimation.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in using budgeting software and tools.
